The story

Easy to start.
Deep enough for a lifetime.

I made a spiritual successor to Theme Park and SimSafari from the '90s, and the result is EasySafari: an easy yet complex simulation of a safari park where you manage animals, visitors, staff and amenities to build the best safari park in the world.

In the tradition of those old games, all content is unlocked and available with no in-app purchases. Simply download and play.

From 3 to 77 years old, and beyond. Several difficulty modes take you from click-and-play all the way to a hardcore simulation of staff, logistics, stocks of supplies, animal welfare and finances.

Gentle by design

Made first for a three-year-old playing next to a parent. Nothing scary, nothing sad, and no way to lose everything.

Animals never die

An animal left hungry or poorly for too long is taken to an animal shelter, where it's looked after. The park gets a warning first.

A farm for old age

When an animal gets old, the farm truck comes to take it to retire on a farm. You're told ahead of time, so you can say goodbye.

Cartoon chases

Lions and cheetahs can chase zebras and ostriches, but it's never violent. The catch just leaves them dizzy, seeing stars for a moment.

Oops, a lion is loose!

If a big cat gets out, it pounces in a dust cloud. A hat and an ice cream go flying, the visitor sees stars and goes home. Nobody is hurt.

Silly poachers

Cartoon villains with eye masks and nets. Your guards chase them off in a dust-cloud scuffle, and in Cub mode they never come at all.

No game over

Run out of money for too long and you wash dishes for a minute. Then the bank forgives your debts and you carry on.

Babies to name

Happy animals have babies, and you get to name each one. Every name lives on in the Field Guide.

Grown-ups stay in charge

Messages are read aloud, and big buttons make it easy to tap. The settings sit behind a parent gate, and a reminder at dusk suggests a break.

No ads, no accounts, no in-app purchases, no tracking, no chat. It plays offline, so it's safe to hand over.

What's inside

A whole park to run

Draw habitats, lakes and paths, adopt animals, open the gate, and earn stars by keeping animals and guests happy.

58 kinds of animals

From lions and elephants to hippos, flamingos and meerkats, plus make-believe hybrids from the research station. Babies are born, animals grow old, and each one has needs.

Regions to explore

Start on the savanna, then buy land in the Wetlands, Jungle, Frosty Peaks, Outback, Desert and Boreal Forest, each with its own animals, plants and ground.

Visitors with real needs

Locals and tourists arrive with wallets and moods. They get hungry, thirsty and tired, want fun and learning, and tell you exactly why they are happy or not.

Staff to hire and train

Rangers, vets, cleaners, handymen, gardeners, guards and eco-guides, each with a job queue you can see. Keep fences mended, feeders full and poachers out.

Shops, rides and stays

Food carts to upscale restaurants, gift shops, lodges, jeep safaris, boats, river rafts, a monorail and hot-air balloons. Set every price yourself.

Money and logistics

Ticket prices, adverts, bank loans, land tax, a storeroom of supplies to keep stocked, and a 50-day history of every shop. Or let the helpers handle it.

A living world

Dawn and dusk, seasons, rain and rainbows, heat waves, plants that seed themselves, TV crews, school trips, rescue calls and a yearly awards night.

Made for families

A parent gate on grown-up settings, read-aloud messages, a break reminder at dusk, a left-handed layout, and reduced motion. No ads, no tracking, no accounts.

Sandbox, challenges, iCloud

Three park slots, a free-build sandbox with endless money, four challenges to master, a photo album, and automatic iCloud backups of every park.

EasySafari for Mac is in early access, so macOS will ask before you open it the first time. It only takes a minute:

  1. Open EasySafari-1.0.1-mac.dmg and drag EasySafari into Applications.
  2. Open EasySafari. macOS says it can't verify the app: click Done.
  3. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security and click Open Anyway next to “EasySafari was blocked”.
  4. Confirm with your password or Touch ID. That's it: from now on it opens like any other app.
Is it safe? Yes. EasySafari is safe and has been scanned for malware. macOS only asks because this early-access Mac version isn't notarized by Apple yet; that comes when EasySafari is distributed on the App Store.
